In 2023, The King’s CE School will celebrate 25 years as a Church of England Voluntary Aided school; a significant and proud milestone in its history. The school has come through a complete transformation from The Regis school as part of The Fresh Start initiative in 1998 with some initial support from S Peter’s Collegiate school, an established secondary Church of England school in the city.
The renewed vision, established in 2019, has further strengthened the firm foundation on which the school is built and has ensured that despite the significant extraordinary challenges it has faced, The King’s school is emerging as a beacon of excellence in Wolverhampton. All members of the school community are very clear and committed to the unique mission and the school is building strong partnerships within the city and nationally in its pioneering work with examples from the local churches, Careers and Enterprise Company, Black Country Consortium, Farmington Institute, Police Cadets, Prince’s Trust, Wolves Academy and MVP.
Letter from the Principal
Dear Parent, carers and visitors,
It is a pleasure to introduce myself as the Principal of The King’s Church of England School.
Here at The King’s we have a strong vision and clear values, guided by a deeply rooted church school ethos. We are a school where pupils are given the confidence and capacity to flourish in a multi-faith community because of our distinctively Christian values. We are an extremely friendly and supportive school with an excellent team of staff where positive relationships, built upon empathy, respect, responsibility and forgiveness, underpin all areas of school life.
We believe is setting high standards for everyone connected to the school through our motto of ‘Aspire, Believe and Achieve Together’. We want everyone to aim high and develop the belief and self-confidence so that they can go anywhere, do anything and become whatever they aspire to become. We want them to achieve beyond what they ever thought was possible and most importantly, to recognise that everyone associated with the school is a part of one team, working together for the benefit of all.
We are an outward-facing school, proud of our strong links and partnerships with other schools, employers and community organisations; a school where diversity is celebrated and all are valued, supported and included. All pupils benefit greatly from our excellent resources and facilities, our new building which enables innovation and an embedded culture of learning beyond the classroom
We are all living and working within times of great change. The King’s CE School always seeks to be at the leading edge of change and aims to harness the benefits of change to improve outcomes for all. Our aim is that all of our pupils will leave us fully prepared for the rapidly evolving world of work and able to make a valuable contribution to society.
The King’s CE School is one of the most improved secondary schools in Wolverhampton and is an exciting and inspirational place to work and study - please come and see for yourself, I look forward to meeting you and showing you around.
