Enrichment
As part of our commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum, we offer a broad range of extra-curricular activities, including lunch-time and after-school clubs and visits to the local area.
Pupils are able to select from a variety of clubs to further develop an interest or to learn a new skill. Some are linked to the taught curriculum and others offer pupils experiences they may not encounter in the classroom.
Examples of clubs offered include gardening, basketball, football, debating, science, fitness, theatre group and keyboard club. We also offer a homework club each afternoon from 3.30pm, where pupils have access to our ICT facilities to support in the completion of their extended learning. Pupils also have the opportunity to compete in a number of fixtures after school with the PE department.
Educational enrichment visits are also an important part of curriculum offer. In the past year, pupils have had the opportunity to participate in educational visits to Shrewsbury Prison, RAF Cosford, Wolf Mountain, The Grand Theatre, Nottingham Justice Museum, Carding Mill Valley and Kingswood Activity Centre.
